Die Beta-Version vom Windows Installer 3.1 wurde neulich veröffentlicht.

Im ersten Halbjahr 2005 soll der Windows Installer 3.1 fertiggestellt werden. Er wird Teil des Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 sein, aber auch als Installationspaket für die gleichen Betriebssysteme wie MSI 3.0 zur Verfügung stehen. Für Windows 9X wird es allem Anschein nach keine Version von MSI 3.x geben.
