WiX Working Group video, Keller makes the save all by myself.

Thursday, 30. September 2010 at 8:35 pm

Tonight Sounders FC played Real Salt Lake. That means I showed up here around 10:30 PM. The lights were off and no one was here. That made me sad. So to cheer myself up, I re-watched Keller’s amazing PK save. Hopefully, next week, everyone will be back and more code will get written.

WiX Working Group video, the sound of sorting.

Thursday, 30. September 2010 at 8:35 pm

K, Reid and I are playing through Halo 3:ODST on Legendary. Its my attempt to keep in touch with a couple of the original developers on the WiX toolset since our paths don’t cross much any longer. Over chat, Reid mentioned a video he saw recently where someone assigned sounds to swaps and recorded the results of various sorting algorithms.

Burn in the corporate environment.

Wednesday, 8. September 2010 at 8:25 am

A good question about Burn was raised in the comments on my blog entry about Burn yesterday. The tiny executable that downloads the bulk of the installation content is great when you want to install on your computer. However, if you need to distribute the installation to many machines, like most corporations do, downloading from the Internet is more expensive than downloading from a corporate server. Fortunately, we have a solution for this scenario.

Burn, baby. Burn.

Tuesday, 7. September 2010 at 8:39 am

This is the blog post I’ve been wanting to write for a couple years. The WiX toolset finally installs via Burn in WiX v3.6. The install is ugly and buggy but it’s functional. I would not recommend installing WiX v3.6 right now unless you’re willing to dig into the source code to figure out what’s going on. And there is a lot going on, let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

WiX Working Group video, cam hodges.

Saturday, 4. September 2010 at 8:35 pm

I don’t know how many of you know Doug Hodges but if you’ve used Visual Studio, you’ve used his work. I’ve had the pleasure of being introduced to Doug this last week and doing a bit of work with him. However, this week Doug has been out supporting his son in L.A. If you watch TV or have a teenage girl in your house, you may have heard of him: Cam Hodges.

WiX Working Group video, earth to space and back in 7 minutes.

Saturday, 4. September 2010 at 8:35 pm

This week the WiX Working Group was obviously being lazy. It’s late and only Eric and I are still here. I totally forgot about showing a video and, honestly, I didn’t have anything picked out. Fortunately, Bob saved me by tweeting his pick of the week yesterday. This one is awesome.

WiX Working Group video, scott pilgrim vs. the matrix

Saturday, 4. September 2010 at 8:35 pm

Okay, I have to admit I thought this one was a lot cooler than pretty much everyone else tonight. For whatever reason, I think "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" looks like fun. Probably not fun enough to go to the movie theater but I’ll definitely put it in my Netflix instant queue for the XBox at some point. Anyway, someone took the Scott Pilgrim trailer and crossed it with The Matrix. I was impressed by the results.
