WiX Working Group video of the week, flying people.
I can only imagine what the people of New York thought when they saw this. There are some great shots in this video. The sound track is a nice touch as well.

I have never been interrupted during a presentation by a ringing cell phone. However, I’d like to think if I was I would be creative enough to come up with a response like the video this week. The performer’s look at the end of the video sums it up. Classic (pun intended).

I heard it said that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something. If my calculations are correct, that’s like 8 years of constant effort so it seems a little high. But being good at something certainly takes time. A little talent can go a long way. In this week’s video, we’ll see just how far talent and practice can take the elite.

What happens when you take the pivotal moment of the most loved trilogy ever and recast it as a silent movie? You get something bordering on art. I was amazed at how well this worked. The attention to detail really sets it apart. See Darth introduce himself to Luke silently.

Last week I was recovering data from hard drives from some long dead laptops. This little Sabrent 2.5″ IDE hard drive enclosure did a fine job. On one of the drives, I found a link to an old video that I probably showed at WiX night years ago. It made me chuckle. I found an updated version of the video that is a bit longer. Happy 2012 from 2001 or so!

Every year about this time, you hear about people doing crazy things with their Christmas lights. This is nowhere near as good as the real life angry birds from this summer. But someone put a lot of energy into putting this display together.

Believe it or don’t, I lived on a farm for a number of years. We had a small herd of cows, about the size found in this video. Sometimes we’d need to get the cows back toward the barn and my Dad would take out the "horse", a 4-wheeler ATV. Never did I imagined you could gather cows like this.

Lately, I’ve been playing some Deadmau5 on WiX nights. Thus when I saw this marketing stunt, I knew we had the video for this week. I’ll let you decide if this beats the other marketing stunts (angry birds and boot parachute) but it takes the cake in my mind. 3D plus tunes makes the 4th dimension. Check it.
