Schema erweitern

Hallo zusammen,

habe eine Installation repackaged mit mehr als 32768 Dateien. Genauer gesagt mit ca. 51.300 Dateien. Da momentan im File Table bei 32767 Schluss ist, dachte ich mir, dass eine Erweiterung des Schema vielleicht Abhilfe bringt.

Habe leider nichts an Doku im Netz gefunden.

Welche Tabellen muss ich wie verändern?

Veränderung würde ich im Wise 6 oder in ORCA vornehmen. Egal was leichter zu bewerkstelligen ist.

ist eigentlich recht einfach und im msi-sdk beschrieben (ms-help://MS.PSDKSVR2003R2.1033/msi/setup/authoring_a_large_package.htm)

kopiere dein msi template (z.b. das von wise oder schema.msi) und benutze orca fuer die folgenden schritte: (aus der hilfe)

Use this guideline to author a Windows Installer package that contains more than 32767 files.

If your Windows Installer package contains more than 32767 files, you must change the schema of the database to increase the limit of the following columns:

* The Sequence column of the File table.
* The LastSequence column of the Media table.
* The Sequence column of the Patch table.
* For more information, see Column Definition Format.

To increase the limit of a database column

1. Export the table to an .idt file. For details, see Msidb.exe, Export Files, and Importing and Exporting.
2. Edit the .idt file to change the column type from i2 to i4, or from I2 to I4.
3. Import the .idt file back into the database.

Note that transforms and patches cannot be created between two packages with different column types.

ps: die .idt dateien kannst du ganz einfach mit notepad editieren. Smile
